Specialized Seminar on Teaching of Architecture for International Groups, with the purpose of the application of European project KA2.
16:30-18:00.
This is a great opportunity to advance in the research we started last year. Our idea consists of explaining it on Monday afternoon, and to organize ourselves in groups to develop the different sections of the KA2. We will finish on Thursday afternoon putting all the material together, ready to be submitted!
Since this experience will be also very important for our students to get to know the guest professors, each visitor will prepare a short lecture on their school of architecture, showing the kind of projects and results their students produce. During the workshops we will have organized breaks for them to give those lectures.
Sala ECISA and courtyard of the EPS4.
Daily from 10:30 until the body holds!
The groups of students with teaching in English will develop an incredible construction done with canes. Prof. Pone will teach us how to build a huge and an incredibly flexible structure with canes in the courtyard of the school. This is a precise technique that allows us to question the possibility of structures and constructions to conceive them as authentic pieces of architecture.
It will be a workshop that goes beyond those who believe that materials like canes are not part of the proper architecture. We will research on the qualities of a material and the specific technique to use it, its geometry, joins, sections, to be able to construct an intellectual exercise capable to generate architecture.
Starting with small and models done with wood, we will jump into a huge construction where we will celebrate the achievement. The EPS has already bought for us a lorry full of canes: 10 Kms of canes!!!
Classrooms EPS4.
Daily from 10:30 until the body holds!
The main goal of this workshop is to work intensively in a real context in a format similar to a contest. Student will be divided in teams formed by international members, and they will be supervised for international professors as well (guest professores and UA professors).
The site place for this workshop is the San Antón neighbourhood in Alicante, where they will propose actions based in two principles: from the point of view of the programme, they will improve the social conditions of the area in the way they justify; and from the point of view of arquitecture, they will be based in smart solutions form the perspective of energy efficiency, materials, building technics, etc.
The proposed methodology will be based on a SWOT analysis of Phase I, working on the site on the first place, and then on the University of Alicante. Then, teams will develop a proposal during the rest of the week.
